Panasonic will release the tablet PC-like rugged PDA device on May 15th, 2007. Known as the ToughBook CF-08, the gadget comes with 10.4-inch touch-sensitive 1024 x 768 display, Intel PXA270 processor at 312MHz, 64MB RAM and 64MB ROM memory, up to 14 hours of battery life and Windows CE 5.0. The tablet is water resistant and capable of withstanding a fall from as high as 1.2-meters. The gadget’s display is using an Anti-Reflection technology for easy outdoors use. In addition, the ToughBook CF-08 has 802.11b/g wireless, Ethernet LAN and Bluetooth 1.2 and comes with USB 1.1 port. Unfortunately, there is no word on slot for an additional flash memory data storage device.

Korea will be getting the new Pixel Lab Ripple Tablet Note T8300. It’s powered by Intel’s Penryn T8300 2.4GHz processor along with an enhanced touch panel that supports stylus and finger use, optional 3.5G HSDPA wireless connectivity, 1.3 megapixel webcam, and a 7-in-1 memory card reader.

Xylomn has built a coffee table PC that features a 24-inch display and a ceiling-mounted camera for tracking hand motions. Additional features include custom software that allows users to beam media to the PC with bluetooth and geotag it on a touchable map along with an interface that rotates automatically towards whoever is eating, drinking, etc. at the display point.

The P1610 is Fujitsu’s new ultra portable tablet PC that comes with a swiveling 8.9-inch WXGA display for maximum portability. It is powered by a 1.2GHz Intel Core Solo U1400 processor, 1GB of DDR2 memory, 80GB HDD, and a biometric fingerprint reader.

DRS has some laptops that don’t mind taking a beating called the ARMOR C12 convertible featuring a 12.1-inch outdoor readable touchscreen, 1.2GHz ULV U1400 CPU, 512MB of DDR2 RAM, a 60GB shock-mounted HDD, full-sized keyboard, integrated wifi, ethernet, PCMCIA, a biometric scanner and a die-cast magnesium case. Last, is the ARMOR X10 tablet featuring a 1.2GHz U2500 core duo processor, an optional 16GB SSD, 10.4-inch sunlight readable display, bluetooth.

HP Pavilion tx1000 tablet PC is now available for purchase at Hewlett-Packard’s site. It has a starting price of $1,299 with a 12.1-inch 1280×800 widescreen display, or $1,425 with touch-screen feature. The tablet PC boasts a 1.6GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 dual core processor, 1.8GHz or 2GHz clock speed, 1GB or 2GB of main memory, and with up to 200GB SATA hard drive at 4200rpm. The company is also offered smaller 80GB, 100GB and 160GB HDDs which are at 5400rpm. Other features include a DVD burner and NVIDIA GeForceGo 6150, wireless LAN, Gigabit Ethernet, a 56k modem, and an optional Bluetooth. Weighing 4.2 lbs, it comes with Windows Vista Home Premium, Vista Business or Vista Ultimate Edition OS.

Motion Computing is dropping a semi-rugged medical PC tablet called the F5. It is IP54-compliant (dust, water, shock and temperature resistant), has a 1.2GHz Intel Centrino U1400 processor, 10.4-inch XGA (1,024 x 768) display, 40GB HDD, built-in 802.11a/b/g and bluetooth, WWAN (EV-DO) support and a 2-megapixel camera along with an optional barcode reader, integrated RFID reader / passive tag, a biometric scanner, three USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, VGA output and a battery with a life of 3.5 hours. Look for the F5 at a whopping $2,699 to $4,000.

Measuring 290mm x 205mm x 25mm and weighing 970 grams, the Fujitsu TeamPad 7500Ws tablet comes jam packed with 624MHz PXA320 processor, 1GB RAM, 10.4 inch XGA touch screen display, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, CF memory card slot. Unfortunately, it is available only in Japan. The tablet PC is using Windows CE 5.0 Professional Plus as its operating system.

Roper Mobile Technology Company issued new rugged Tablet PC – Duros. According to the manufacturer, the device is intended to be used “anytime, anywhere, even in a hostile environment”. It is especially useful for users who are required to work in special weather conditions – heat, cold and rain.

Duros can operate over a wide temperature range (from -20 C to +50 C), resistant to the ingress of dust and moisture, and vibration. In addition, the machine can fall from a height of over 1 metre.

The Korean company Ripple, known, primarily by beautiful design of its notebooks, developed a new laptop – Tablet PC T8100. It is not an exception to the rule, as it distinguishes good equipment, and harmonious design.

T8100 is equipped with the latest processor Intel T8100 (2.1GHz), produced for the 45 nm technology related to a series of Penryn. In addition, it also equipped with a 12.1″ turning touch screen display, a capacity of 120GB hard drive, optical drive DVD-RW, operational 1GB of memory, running on Windows Vista.

Finally, the long-awaited ultra portable Tablet PC HP tx2000 appeared on the market. Already it can be ordered on the official website of HP. Unfortunately, this possibility is given only to residents of the United States, in Europe the novelty is expected in the next month.

Complete set tx2000 for $1299 includes a processor AMD Turion 64 X2 2.1GHz, 2GB RAM, GeForce Go 6150 graphics card, hard disk volume 160GB, optical drive Dual Layer LightScribe and fingerprint scanner.

The more powerful equipment will cost $2311. It consists of a processor AMD Turion 64 X2 2.2GHz, the hard disk capacity of 250GB, 4GB RAM, Verizon 3G ExpressCard and preloaded operating system Vista Ultimate.

The main feature of this notebook is a 12.1″ touch screen. In the end, you get a compact, lightweight laptop with good functionality.

The TabletKiosk eo i7300 is being reviewed for a sneak peek.It has a 7-inch display (1,024 x 600 resolution), which will also include an Intel Menlow processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a 60GB hard drive, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, a biometric fingerprint reader and a 4-cell battery.

Axiotron Inc released new Tablet PC – Mac with touch screen, which was developed with the consent of Apple. In addition to original design the novelty, known as Modbook, distinguishes the opportunity to paint and draw with a special pen.

Also it is notable by its (rather powerful) specifications. ModBook is equipped with a good web camera, and onboard GPS Navigator, DVD Combo optical drive. 13.3″ widescreen display has a large viewing angle and high contrast.

Axiotron ModBook Tablet PC will cost about $2290. New Tablet PC, of course, is a device, which should be purchased this year.

HP is going to be showcasing the TX2000 tablet pc at the CES as well. It comes wirh the outfit’s QuickPlay software, a webcam ,an integrated microphone, Pavilion HDX, a 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTS graphics set, an optional Core 2 Extreme processor, Blu-ray / HD DVD support and a 20.1-inch WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) XHD Ultra Brightview display along with four Altec Lansing speakers and a built-in “subwoofer,” an eSATA port, hybrid analog / digital TV tuner, room for two HDDs and a media remote. HP wants about $1299 for this tablet.
