Asus USA has announced two new Eee PC models – the Eee PC 1000HD and the previously announced Eee PC 904HD. This two new Eee PC are different from the previously announced 1000 which is now available for pre-order at Amazon and the 1000h which was announced previously. These two 1000 series models are both running Intel Atom processor. The Eee PC 1000HD on the other hand has the Intel® Dothan 353/ 900MHz. The Eee PC 1000HD will also come with an 80GB HDD, while the 1000 only comes with a 40GB SSD .

Alright, to avoid confusion, here’s a rundown of the features and specs of the Eee PC 1000HD and Eee PC 904HD.

Gigabyte released a new notebook with 8.9″ touch screen. Netbook M912V is a Tablet PC with Atom processor and fairly good specifications. M912V is equipped with a rotating touch screen, which can be rotated 180 degrees, 2.5″ 160GB hard drive with an interface SATA, slot Express Card, optional HSDPA, and built-in 1.3-megapixel Web camera.

Netbook M912V will appear in sales this month and will cost about $699.

Asus will be released two new models of the famous Asus Eee PC mini laptop. Known as the Eee PC 904 and Eee PC 905, these two portable gadgets is actually a successor of the Eee PC 900 and the Eee PC 901. This MSI Wind and Acer Aspire One competitors have the specifications that are similar to the 901. However, these laptops come with a bigger keyboard size and footprint, but not the LCD size.

PC Retail is reporting that Asus has confirmed about the rumored Eee PC 904 which will be released in the UK within weeks. According to their source, the Eee PC 904 aside from sporting the Eee PC 1001 chassis but with 8.9-inch screen and as reported earlier a full-size keyboard. In addition, the Eee PC 904 would also come with a HD hence it will officially called as the Eee PC 904 HD. The report didn’t specify exact date as to when the Eee PC 904 will be released, but hints of a possible immediate release (we’re guessing next week?). The Eee PC 904 HD would most likely cost around $498.

Adding some more netbook models into our collection of “Computex debutants” are two netbooks from First International Computer (FIC) – the CE2A1 and CW0A1. Pardon the lack of “cool” branding, but these two netbooks are not to be outdone by competitors for their features and specifications.

Both FIC netbooks sport an 8.9-inch LCD display and same industrial design. Differentiating the two netbooks are their CPUs, the CE2A1 has 1.2GHz VIA C7-M ULV processor with VIA VX800 chipset while the CW0A1 boasts of 1600MHz Intel Atom processor N270.

Additionally, both netbooks features; centrally-located touchpad, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, 802.11b/g wireless LAN, 4-cell Lithium-Ion battery (6-cell optional) and a 1.8-inch hard disk drive with up to 160GB of internal storage.

The CE2A1 runs on Windows Vista Basic, Windows XP Home Edition or Linux operating system support while the CW0A1 runs on Windows XP Home Edition or Linux operating system support.

Here’s another one of ‘em Eee PC rip off from the Philippines, the Red Fox Wizbook800. This little notebook PC was from a local Philippine PC shop distributes various machines with the RED FOX branding. Feature and specs wise, the Wizbook800 is definitely a local manufacturers take on the Eee PC. And as such its features are almost similar to the Eee PC 701:

Unfortunately the Wizbook800 doesn’t seem to have a webcam. The product site doesn’t have a pricing detail though. I’m guessing it retails for around $250. The WizBook800 is available only in the Philippines and i doubt if it will be released internationally

It seems that Asus Taiwan will be released the new Eee PC 901 UMPC. The company adds in a new row of buttons between the keyboard and battery and a power plug on the left side. The new Eee PC 901 does not have the Asus logo. There is no further info on the specs.

Asustek confirmed that they will release the Eee PC 900 in the US on May 12th, 2008. Priced at $549.99, this 8.9-inch UMPC will be available in two variants. The first is powered by Windows XP, 12GB of storage, 4GB of Flash memory and an 8GB SSD. Meanwhile, the second model features Linux, a larger 20GB of total storage, 4GB Flash and the 16GB SSD.

From Germany’s Fukato Datacask Jupiter, the Asus Eee PC takes on another challenger. This time coming from the seat of Asian technology in Japan with Kohjinsha’s SA5KXO8AL and SA5KXO8FL.

Both notebooks boast of a preloaded Windows XP Home Edition for OS. Here are the technical details of the two Japanese Asus Eee PC rival:

The SA5KXO8AL has an SRP of arpund $591 while the SA5KXO8FL will sell for around $787.

The new Airis Kira 100 which is released in Europe definitely looks almost the same but in different colors. Just like the Asus Eee PC, the Airis Kira 100 is a low-cost ultraportable notebook with an SRP of only around $472.

The Airis Kira 100 has a 7-inch 800×480 pixel display, 1GHz VIA C7 processor, 512 RAM, 2GB internal HD, VGA output, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, 56 kbps modem, SD/MMC/MS/CF card reader, webcam, 4 hour battery life (wow!), Linux lite OS and weighs only 1kg.

HP will release a new Asus Eee-PC competitor in April 7th, 2008. Known as the HP 2133, this Ultra Mobile PC comes equipped with 1.2GHz/1.6GHz VIA C7-M processor, VIA Chrome 9 graphics chipset, 8.9inch display with 1,280 x 768 resolution, 120GB/160GB hard drive, 1GB/2GB DDR2 RAM, Windows Vista Home Basic/Business/SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. The HP UMPC 2133’s price tag starts from $550 upwards, depending on the configuration.

Speaking about figures, the 2go PC is equipped with ULV Intel Celeron M processor with a frequency of 900 MHz or 1 GHz, Intel 915GMS chipset, 512 MB RAM (can be increased to 1 GB), 9″ LCD screen with a resolution of 800×480 points, 40-GB hard drive, support for Wi-Fi 802.11b / g, a cardreader with a slot for SD/MMC. Also 2go PC possesses an VGA webcam, Windows XP (Linux as an option), less than a half kilograms of weight, 2 USB ports, 3 hours of work from the battery and price of $ 400. It is expected that the novelty can be purchased in a couple of months.

The 2go will be manufactured by CTL, and sports the following specs:

• An Intel Celeron M CPU, with a 915GMS chipset
• 512MB of RAM (upgradeable to 1GB)
• A 9-inch, 800 x 480 LCD
• 40GB hard drive

The handy handle on the top creates a visual connection to the OLPC, moreso than the Eee PC itself. This, of course, (coupled with the price tag) makes it obvious that it’s at least partly aimed at the education market.

With specs like these, and a price tag like that, this little number will be definite competition for the Eee PC.  I don’t think it looks as nice, but looks aren’t everything.   Only the sales numbers will say for sure.

CTL will now be dropping the 2GO PC. It comes with an Intel Celeron M CPU, 915GMS chipset, 512MB of RAM, a 9-inch, 800 x 480 LCD display, 40GB hard drive, 802.11b/g, SD / MMC reader, and standard ports and jacks. The systems run XP and have a VGA webcam, three hours usage time between charges. Look for the 2Go in about a couple months for $400.

Asus has currently showcased their new Eee PC at CeBIT 2008. The Eee 900 will run Windows XP with the 9 inch LCD widescreen (1024 x 600 pixels). Here is a video from CeBIT 2008.
