Acer is not allowing the competition to go far and apparently most of these feature that its Aspire Gemstone Blue Laptops contain are sure to get the fancy of most people wanting to get a new laptop offered in the market today.

Acer has introduced two new models, which come equipped with a variety of useful features like the Blu-ray players and Dolby Home Theater surround sound. The newly released laptops provide a cool blue interface and available in 16 inch and 18.4 inch screens, which is a first for the laptop market. They are both equipped with full HD playback and the cool Cine Dash Media Console interface.

Three gaming laptops have been introduced by Toshiba this week. The Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q860, X505-Q870 and X505-Q880 feature a 18.4-inch (1680 x 945) LCD screen with either an Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor, a 4GB of DDR3 memory, a 500GB hard drive and the latest nVidia GeForce GTS360M 1GB GDDR5 gaming-class video card.

The high-end Qosmio X505-Q880 ships with a 6GB RAM, a 64GB solid state drive plus a 500GB HDD, and a Full HD 1920×1080 LCD display. The Qosmio X505-Q860 has a DVD burner, while the Qosmio X505-Q870 and Qosmio X505-Q880 include a Blu-ray Combo drive and Bluetooth. The Qosmio X505-Q860, Qosmio X505-Q870 and Qosmio X505-Q880 run Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS and cost $1,199.99, $1,499.99 and $1,899.99, respectively.

Sony introduced two new members from the VAIO Z Series in the form of the VAIO VPCZ11Z9E and VAIO VPCZ11X9E. The Sony VAIO VPCZ11Z9E features a choice of Core i7-620m processors from 2.66GHZ up to 3.33GHZ and comes with up to 6GB of DDR3 RAM, a 13.1 inch (1920 x 1080) LED display and a 256GB Quad SSD. Meanwhile, the Sony VAIO VPCZ11X9E features a choice of Core i7-620m processors from 2.4GHz to 2.93GHZ and a 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 128GB Quad SSD, and a 13.1-inch (1600 x 900) LED display. Both laptops will be released in March 2010 for around $1,000 each.

ASUS has signed an agreement with Boingo Wireless to bundle the WiFi hotspot operator’s software with new ASUS Eee PC netbooks. If you buy an ASUS Eee PC 1005PE, 1008P, or 1201N, it will come preloaded with Boingo software for connecting to the 125,000 WiFi hotspots around the world. ASUS customers will be offered 50% discounts on Boingo’s most popular Wi-Fi access services. Customers receive 50% off the first three months of Boingo Unlimited or 50% off the first month of Boingo Global accounts. After the promotion period, the accounts will revert to standard charges. A Boingo Unlimited subscription is $9.95 per month for access in the Americas, while a Boingo Global plan costs $59 per month for worldwide Wi-Fi access.
