Acer is not allowing the competition to go far and apparently most of these feature that its Aspire Gemstone Blue Laptops contain are sure to get the fancy of most people wanting to get a new laptop offered in the market today.

Acer has introduced two new models, which come equipped with a variety of useful features like the Blu-ray players and Dolby Home Theater surround sound. The newly released laptops provide a cool blue interface and available in 16 inch and 18.4 inch screens, which is a first for the laptop market. They are both equipped with full HD playback and the cool Cine Dash Media Console interface.

Asus has slowly made its way as one of the alternative laptops today and depending on the purpose of wanting a laptop, this is perhaps among the alternative choices when it comes to mobile computing.

The Asus M51 series notebooks are 15-inch laptops offered with a range of Intel Core 2 Duo processors, dedicated graphics, and enough extras to keep most students or families happy.

The Qosmio X505-Q860, Qosmio X505-Q870 and Qosmio X505-Q880 run Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS and cost $1,199.99, $1,499.99 and $1,899.99, respectively.

Lenovo has begun selling their latest G-series notebook ‘G560′ via Lenovo’s official website. Priced at $849, the G560 boasts a 15.6-inch 1366 x 768 LED Backlight TFT display, an Intel Core i3-330M 2.13GHz processor, an Intel GMA HD graphics, a 4GB RAM, a 320GB hard drive, a DVD burner, a 6-cell battery and Windows 7 Home OS.

MSI has recently announced the worldwide availability of the MSI Wind U135. Priced at $309.99 upwards, the netbook adopts a 1.66Ghz Intel Atom N450 processor with a 10-inch 1024 x 600 display, an Intel GMA3150 graphics, up to 250GB of hard disk drive, WiFi, and a 3 or 6 Cell battery. The MSI Wind U135 also features a utility that allows you to choose between several modes including Gaming, Movie, Presentation, Document and Turbo Battery.

Here’s a look at Panasonic’s upcoming R9 netbook. Part of the Let’s Note series, this mini laptop sports a 10.4-inch 1024 x 768 TFT display, a choice of either a 1.6GHz or 1.2GHz Intel Core i7-620UM CPU, up to 4GB DDR3 RAM, up to 500GB HDD or 128GB SSD, a card reader (SD/SDHC), WiFi, Bluetooth, two USB ports, a 7.5-hour battery and runs on Windows 7 Professional OS.

Dell has recently released their latest gaming laptop for the Japanese market that sports the newest Intel Core i7 processor. Dubbed as the Alienware M17x, this powerful machine is packed with a 17-inch 1440 x 900 widescreen TFT LCD display, a 1.60GHz Intel Core i7-720QM CPU, an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4870 1GB GPU, a 4GB DDR3 SDRAM, a 500GB HDD, a DVD burner and Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OS. The Alienware M17x sells for 179,980 Yen (about $1,997).

DigitalRise has released its S1 Slate, which is a cheaper version of its multitouch-capable X9. The tablet is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, a 1GB RAM, a 160GB hard disk, a 10.2-inch display at 1024 x 600 resolution, a 3000mAh lithium-ion battery, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, Wi-Fi and Microsoft Windows 7 OS. Additionally, the S1’s screen is dust, scratch, and fire resistant. You should have at least $630 to bring home this tablet PC.

MSI introduced ultra-slim laptop to its range by announcing the X-Slim X620. Specs-wise, the X620 offers a 15.6-inch 1366 x 768 HD widescreen display, an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5430 1GB graphics card, up to 4GB RAM, up to 500GB hard drive, a 1.3MP webcam, a DVD Super-Multi drive, WiFi, Bluetooth, 2x USB 2.0 ports, an e-SATA port an HDMI port and Windows 7 Home Premium OS.

The Samsung NB30 semi-rugged netbook is now available in the US market. This 10.1-inch netbook comes jam packed with a spill-resistant keyboard and a fingerprint-resistant lid that protects it from minor scratches. The netbook also features a hard drive protection system, that shuts down the hard disk in the event of a fall to help prevent data loss. The Samsung NB30 provides a 1024×600 pixel display with a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, a 1GB of RAM, an integrated GMA 3150 graphics, a 160GB hard drive, 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Microsoft Windows 7 Starter Edition. Its 6 Cell 4400mAh Lithium Ion battery will last for up to 6.5 hours. The Samsung NB30 semi-rugged netbook retails for $369.99 plus $4.99 for shipping.

Sony is now offering an updated version of its VAIO CW 14-inch laptop series that comes equipped with the newest Intel Core i5 processor. So here are the complete specs: a 14-inch 1366 x 768 LED backlit display, an Intel Core i5 processor (up to 2.53GHz), a NVIDIA GeForce 310M 256MB GPU, up to 8GB DDR3 RAM, up to 500GB hard drive, a webcam, a Blu-ray drive, WiFi, Bluetooth and Windows 7 OS. Price starts at $809.99.

Sony introduced two new members from the VAIO Z Series in the form of the VAIO VPCZ11Z9E and VAIO VPCZ11X9E. The Sony VAIO VPCZ11Z9E features a choice of Core i7-620m processors from 2.66GHZ up to 3.33GHZ and comes with up to 6GB of DDR3 RAM, a 13.1 inch (1920 x 1080) LED display and a 256GB Quad SSD. Meanwhile, the Sony VAIO VPCZ11X9E features a choice of Core i7-620m processors from 2.4GHz to 2.93GHZ and a 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a 128GB Quad SSD, and a 13.1-inch (1600 x 900) LED display. Both laptops will be released in March 2010 for around $1,000 each.

ASUS has signed an agreement with Boingo Wireless to bundle the WiFi hotspot operator’s software with new ASUS Eee PC netbooks. If you buy an ASUS Eee PC 1005PE, 1008P, or 1201N, it will come preloaded with Boingo software for connecting to the 125,000 WiFi hotspots around the world. ASUS customers will be offered 50% discounts on Boingo’s most popular Wi-Fi access services. Customers receive 50% off the first three months of Boingo Unlimited or 50% off the first month of Boingo Global accounts. After the promotion period, the accounts will revert to standard charges. A Boingo Unlimited subscription is $9.95 per month for access in the Americas, while a Boingo Global plan costs $59 per month for worldwide Wi-Fi access.

TG Sambo has rolled out its new ultra-thin notebook PC, the Averatec Lookie, for the South Korean market. It is a lightweight laptop that weights at just 1.4Kg and measures 0.5cm thick. The Averatec Lookie is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, Microsoft Windows 7 OS, a LED backlit LCD screen, a 250GB HDD, a webcam, an ergonomic keyboard and a HDMI port. Its battery provides up to 6-hour of battery life. The TG Sambo Averatec Lookie is expected to be available for 799,000 Won ($712).

HP has rolled out a new budget-friendly laptop called the Pavilion dv4-2160us. Priced at only $799.99, the system is packed with a 14.1-inch BrightView LCD display, a Core i5-430M Dual-Core 2.26GHz CPU, an Intel HD graphics, a 4GB RAM, a 320GB hard drive, a DVD burner, WiFi, an HDMI port, a 6-cell battery and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Asus has recently introduced the Asus ROG G73jh at CES 2010. This 17.3-inch laptop is part of the Republic of Gamers (ROG) gaming laptop series. This gaming laptop features a matte black exterior and angular heat exhausts. The Asus ROG G73jh features the latest Intel Core i7 processor with up to 8GB of RAM, a 1920 x 1080 resolution LCD screen, a 1TB of hard disk drive, and an ATI Radeon HD5870 mobile graphics. MSI has introduced a new U135 netbook that is powered by Linux SUSE Moblin 2.1 OS. The netbook is powered by an Intel Atom N450 CPU, allowing it to boot up in 30 seconds. The new MSI U135 also boasts a 1GB of RAM and a 250GB of hard disk drive. FYI, the Linux SUSE Moblin 2.1 OS features a widget-based user interface designed for small-screen devices.
