According to rumors, Apple will release its touchscreen tablet in October for $800. The tablet may run a full version of OS X. If the report is true, it looks like the Apple tablet will have a 10-inch capacitive touchscreen display with parts supplied by Foxconn, Wintek, and Dynapack. Sadly, there is no official confirmation from Apple.
Bandai has released another netbook for kids which is based around a cartoon character. Called the Rilakkuma, this mini laptop is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU and offers an 8.9-inch display with 1024 x 600 resolution, a 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, a 1Seg digital TV tuner and WiFi connectivity. The Rilakkuma netbook is now available for purchase for about 79,800 Yen ($865).
The high-end MSI CR400 notebook boasts a uni-body design, Color Film Print and 45-degree edges. The laptop also comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, a 14-inch LED-backlit display with a 1,366 x 768 resolution and an nVidia GeForce 8200M G graphics card. Other features include Windows Vista Home Premium, a 4-in-1 card reader, DVD drive, Wi-Fi, a 1.3MP webcam and three USB ports. No word on pricing so far.
MSI has come out with another stylish business laptop ‘EX460′ which is targeted towards fashion conscious business users. So let’s check out the specs, the EX460 is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and sports a 14-inch widescreen LED backlit display with 1366 x 768 resolution, an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 graphics card (512MB), a 1.3MP webcam, a 4GB RAM, a 500GB SATA hard drive, a Blu-ray drive, WiFi, Bluetooth and runs on Windows Vista Home Premium OS.
Getac has recently introduced the 9213 rugged notebook PC. It is a 13.3-inch laptop that supports a magnesium alloy case and chassis, while the LCD display and hard drive are shock-mounted to prevent damage in the case of a drop or bump. The laptop also adopts a spill-resistant keyboard and touchpad. Weighing at 3.9lbs, the Getac 9213 has an ultra-low voltage 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU with a 1GB of RAM (upgradable to 3GB), a 120GB hard drive (up to 250GB), a LED-backlit LCD display that sports a 1280×800 resolution, and a 1.3-megapixel camera with two digital microphones. Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and an optional 3G data network access. Its battery provides around 8-hours of operation time and can be extended to 12 hours with an extra battery pack that replaces the optical drive. For security, there is an integrated TPM security module and fingerprint scanner.
Sony will release its new Sony VAIO W netbook in August 2009. It is powered by an Intel Atom processor, a 10.1-inch widescreen LCD with 1366×768 pixel resolution, a 160GB hard drive, and Microsoft Windows XP OS. The Sony VAIO W series will be available in berry pink, sugar white and cocoa brown for around $500 each.

The ASUS Eee PC 1005HA is now available in a cheaper version that comes with only a 3-cell battery (4-hours of operating time). Priced at $299.99, the new 1005HA 3-Cell model is currently available only in blue. The black, white and pink models will be released later. The netbook is powered by an Intel Atom N270 processor with a 1GB RAM, a 10.1-Inch 1024 x 600 Display, 802.11n Wi-Fi, a 1.3MP Webcam, and Microsoft Windows XP Home OS.
Philippine based PC manufacturer, Red Fox has rolled out their latest netbook known as the Whizbook N1020i. This mini laptop offers a 10.2-inch TFT LCD, a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, a 1GB RAM, a 160GB HDD, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, a SD/MMC/MS card reader, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 (480Mbits data transfer), an ExpressCard/34 slot, Windows XP Home and a 6-cell battery. The Whizbook N1020i is available in five different colors including red, pink, green, black and yellow for around $440.
If you plan to buy a new laptop with SSD this week, you can choose the 12.1-inch Dynabook NXW with a 128GB SSD. The laptop is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 CPU and retails for only 192,800 Yen ($2,005).
The Archos 9 mini tablet PC will run on Windows 7 OS. Weighing at only 22-ounces, the tablet netbook comes equipped with a 9-inch touch sensitive display, an Intel Atom Z515 CPU, and a storage capacity of 60GB or 120GB. The company hasn’t announced the price of the product yet. The Archos 9 mini tablet PC will be released during Fall 2009.
NEC is out with another portable netbook computer in the form of the LaVie Light Lui Mobile. Weighing just 1.32kg, the machine sports a 10.1-inch LCD display with 1024 x 600 resolution, a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 processor, a 1GB RAM, a 160GB HDD, a 1.3MP webcam, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, an 8.5 hour battery lifespan and runs on Windows XP SP3 OS. No to mention, the system is also designed to work with its Lui Remote Desktop System which allows you to access and use the LUI server remotely.
Samsung starts selling the 10-inch N310 and the N510 in the US market. The N310 is also known as the Samsung Go, which will arrive this July 15th onwards for around $479. However, there is no word on a release date for the Samsung N510 at this time. This netbook will come with an 11.6-inch display accompanied by an NVIDIA ION chipset.
