The New Acer TravelMate 3020 is a white series of ultra-portable mobile notebook which is powered by Intel Centrino Mobile Technology Duo. The notebook features full wireless connectivity with dual-band tri-mode IEEE 802.11a/b/g, WLAN, LAN, and Bluetooth 2.0 compatible. TravelMate 3020 has the Acer OrbiCam (an LCD panel-mounted 1.3 megapixel CMOS camera), and supports a 12.1 inch widescreen LCD panel with a pixel resolution of 1280×800, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, and a battery life of 5.5 hours. It comes preloaded with Windows XP Professional operating system and have some of applications like Acer’s Empowering Technology (eDataSecurity, eLock, ePerformance, eRecovery, eSettings, eNet, ePower and ePresentation), Acer GridVista, Adobe Reader, Cyberlink Power DVD, NTI CD-Maker and Norton AntiVirus.

Recently Hewlett-Packard released a new multimedia notebook HP Pavilion dv5z, built on a new platform AMD Puma. This 15.4″ laptop is made in a totally new design.

Pavilion dv5z was presented with processors AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core, Turion X2 Dual-Core Ultra and Athlon. It is equipped with RAM up to 4GB, integrated card ATI Radeon HD 3200 and ATI Radeon HD 3450 with memory 256MB, hard drive capacity up to 320GB, optical drive and DVD-RW and with the Blu-Ray ROM.

HP dv5z supports wireless format 802.11b / g and 802.11a/b/g/n and completed with optional Bluetooth. There is also a modem 56K, Eternet LAN, HDMI and VGA output, four USB ports (the fourth is combined with the port eSATA), ExpressCard slot and built in stereo speakers Altec Lansing. Some modifications also include a web camera and a fingerprint scanner.

With regard to design, the laptop is made in a totally new style – smooth lines, with a metal surface glitter, streamlined form, the color of onyx and chromium – all this is called Imprint Mesh.

A laptop weighs 5.84 pounds with 6 – segment battery and comes with a preloaded operating system Windows Vista. HP Pavilion dv5z already can be purchased for $ 699.99 for the basic model.

The laptop is powered by a 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7100 processor, 1GB memory, 160GB hard drive, and Windows Vista operating system. The VGN-FZ70B is based on the Mobile Intel PM965 Express chip set, and can take in a maximum 2GB of DDR2 memory. In addition, the laptop features NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT GPU, three USB 2.0 ports, S-Video output, a 56kbps modem and integrated Bluetooth. The Sony VAIO VGN-FZ70B retails for approximately $2,000.

This 4.1 pounds notebook is Toshiba’s first ultra-portable notebook. Feature includes an advanced shock-absorbing design, a 12.1 inch widescreen WXGA display with TruBrite technology, HDD protection, and spill-resistant keyboard.

The Sony VAIO FJ290P1V is a limited edition for VAIO’s 10th anniversary. This VAIO is powerred by Intel® Pentium® M Processor 750 (1.86GHz19, 2MB L2 Cache) and provides a brighter picture with the 14.1 inch widescreen display (1280 x 800 pixels) with XBRITE-ECO™ technology. It also features 100GB @ 5400rpm SATA HDD, 1GB PC2-4200 533MHz DDR2 (512MB x 2), an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 – 128MB Dynamically Shared RAM video memory, an integrated V.90 modem with RJ-11 interface, a 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet with RJ-45 interface, and an integrated MOTION-EYE™ camera with built-in microphone for video conferencing. Price is around $1,499.99.

Mouse Computer has recently introduced the LuvBook U100 in the Japanese market. The laptop is powered by Intel’s Atom 1.6GHz processor with 1GB RAM, a 80GB hard drive, 10.2 inch WSVGA (1,024 x 600 resolution) display, 1.3MP camera and Windows XP OS. The notebook PC retails for around $600.

Toshiba’s Satellite X205 is gaming machine on the go. The laptop comes jam packed with 17-inch display, nVidia GeForce 8700M GT GPU, HD-DVD and dual hard drive option. The Satellite X205 is powered by Intel “Santa Rosa” platform (PM965) and Core 2 Duo CPU. The 8700M GT GPU has 256MB GDDR3 memory and compatible with DirectX 10 games. The 17-inch screen sports a native resolution of 1440 x 900 pixel. It also support up to 4GB of RAM and provides harddrive configuration of 2 x 120GB and 2 x 160GB capacities. Other features include Dolby Home Theatre surround, built-in speakers powered by Harman Kardon with sub-woofer, Intel WiFi Link 4965AGC (802.11 a/g/n), Gigabit Ethernet, and built-in webcam/mic. The laptop has six USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, multi card reader, Firewire port, and finger print reader. Toshiba Satellite X205 priced at $1,999.

Fujitsu’s new LifeBook Q2010 features a 12.1 inch Crystal View LED backlit display, 1.2 GHz Intel Core Solo ULV (Ultra Low Voltage) processor, 512MB or 1GB of RAM, up to 80GB HDD, and two USB 2.0 ports. The laptop’s case is made of titanium and magnesium. The weakness of this laptop is on the battery since it lasts only 1.75 hours. The LifeBook Q2010’s price is $1,999.

The official presentation of the new rugged UMPC from Panasonic – TOUGHBOOK CF-U1 based on the new processor Intel Atom took place in Japan. It was previously shown at the exhibition CeBIT 2008 in Hanover. Unlike the German, where the UMPC was on the stand without the detailed characteristics, the Japanese showing of CF-U1 appeared in full working order.

Fujitsu’s latest offering is the 12.1-inch FMV-T8410 light weight tablet PC that features 1.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo U7500 ultra low voltage processor, up to 4GB RAM, 1,280×800 resolution, 30GB hard drive (or 32GB SSD), DVD super multiple drive, 802.11a/b/g wireless, fingerprint reader, 6.8 hours of battery life, and Windows Vista operating system. The tablet PC will be available next month for around $2,650.

The Kohjinsha SX Series offers 8.9 inch touch screen display at 1,280 x 768 resolution, Intel Atom Z520 1.33GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 60GB HDD, Super Multi-DVD drive, Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity. Other features include an ExpressCard/34 slot, card readers, two USB 2.0 ports and VGA out. The Kohjinsha SX Series UMPC will be available in Japan for around 650 to 800 Euros.

Dell’s new XPS M1330 laptop features an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, Fingerprint Reader, Integrated 2MP shooter, Slot load DVD Burner, 8-1 memory card reader, and HDMI out. You can also option out an LED backlit screen, up to 200GB of hard drive storage, a 32GB solid state drive, and a 128MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 8400M.

LG is ready to launch a new laptop with a large widescreen in the Korean market. Dubbed as the S900-UP73K, it has a 19-inch LCD screen, 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 1GB RAM, 320GB hard drive, Nvidia GeForce 8600M GS graphics card with 256MB memory, and 802.11 a/b/g wireless.

Like the LUKID of Korea we may or may not see this new UMPC from Poland called Aristo Pico 640 hitting the international market. But it still worthwhile to feature this here at Eee PC Blog, because after all it still is and could be an Eee PC competitor.

Actually the Aristo Pico 640 follows the announcement of another UMPC in the same line, the Aristo Pico 740, and in fact the Aristo Pico 640 is a toned down version of the Aristo Pico 740, and so we heard.

Mitsubishi has introduced its new notebook computer series. Known as the Apricot AL C2, the notebook features Intel Core 2 Duo processor an ultra low voltage edition and comes bundled with Windows Vista Business. Other specs include a 12.1 inch display, 802.11 a/b/g wireless connectivity, and the U7500 low-voltage processor running at 1.06GHz.

Lenovo’s ThinkPad X200 12 inch ultraportable notebook has been unveiled today. Weighing at 2.9 pounds, the laptop will be powered by Intel’s Centrino 2 platform that consumes for only 25 watts while operating. Other features include a huge 200GB hard drive, three USB 2.0 ports, an ExpressCard slot and a 1.3MP webcam. cam.

Santech’s new laptop with Intel Centrino 2-based X46 processor will be available in Europe at the end of this month. The notebook features 15.4 inch WXGA+ display, a choice of Intel Core 2 Duo processors, up to 4GB RAM, 2GB Intel Turbo Memory, 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT graphics card, up to 320GB hard drive and a DVD burner/Blu-ray drive. This desktop replacement retails for $1,000 upwards.

Alienware has announced the availability of Alienware Area-51 m9750 laptop. This 17-inch notebook is one of the most powerful laptops currently on the market. It is powered by Intel Core 2 Duo processor (4MB Cache, 667MHz FSB) with 945PM chipset, up to 4GB RAM, dual Nvidia GeForce Go 7950 GTX 512MB GDDR3 memory or nForce 100 in SLI, 400GB 7200 rpm hard drive, 1920 x 1200 resolution, TV Tuner, dual layer DVD burner / Blu-ray drive, wireless a/b/g/n, 7.1 digital high-definition audio with two speakers, a subwoofer, and Windows Vista operating system. The laptop retails for $2,099 with a basic configuration.

Fujitsu’s LifeBook T5010 tablet PC is powered by Intel’s Centrino 2 “Montevina” mobile platform, a 13.3 inch LED Backlit Active Digitizer display with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels, 45nm Intel Core 2 processor, 2GB of DDR3 system memory, Intel integrated graphics processor, 120GB hard drive, a built-in DVD burner, 802.11 a/g/n wireless module and Bluetooth connectivity. The tablet PC also features a fingerprint reader to secure your sensitive data. The T5010 will be available this August for $1,099, depending on the specs.
