
VIA Technologies released special design of the mini-notebook OpenBook, through which different manufacturers can produce their own devices, even more so now that the market for mini-notebooks is rising.
OpenBook is based on a mobile platform VIA of a new generation and is equipped with a 8.9-inch display. The mini-notebook can be equipped with various modules of wireless: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, WiMAX, HSDPA or EV-DO/W-CDMA. In addition, the device may run different operating systems, including Windows Vista Basic, Windows XP and Linux.
