According to NotebookReview, Sony will release 15.4-inch, 13.3-inch and 11.1-inch widescreen VAIO FZ, VAIO SZ5 and VAIO TZ series in July this year. The widescreen 14-inch VAIO CR laptop and 13.3-inch widescreen VAIO CZ are also rumored to come out at the same time. The VAIO FZ series will feature Intel’s next generation “Santa Rosa” platform and the new Core 2 Duo “Merom” processors, a 2GB of RAM, and up to 200GB hard drive. Sony VAIO SZ5 series will feature current Core 2 Duos, 2GB of RAM and up to 200GB HDD, while the ultra-portable Sony VAIO TZ laptops will be powered by Core 2 Duo ultra-low voltage CPUs. These notebooks will have an integrated webcam.

Mebius PC-WT70T is a brand new laptop from the Sharp group. The laptop utilities 1.6 GHz CPU processor, a 15.4 inches display, and 1GB of RAM. The Windows Vista Home Premium and Microsoft Office 2007 will be pre-installed with this product. In addition, it has a SATA microprocessor of a capacity of 100 GB. The Mebius PC-WT70T is also equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and an integrated DVI.

Engadget appears to have gotten their hands on the specs for the new HP UMPC 2133.  It’s coming powered with a VIA CM-7 Processor, either 1.2 or 1.6 GHz, a 8.9″ screen, 120 or 160 GB hard drive, and either 1024 or 2048 667 MHz DDR2.  The price of the 2133 will range from $549 to $849 (depending on the model), with the $549 version coming equipped with the SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 (nice choice!) and the other models with Microsoft Windows Vista.  The more expensive models will even have Bluetooth capability.

It looks like HP has designed an UMPC that will offer some stiff competition for the upcoming 9″ Eee PC.

The Philips X200 Ultra portable notebooks runs on a 1.73GHz Core Duo U2500 processor and has a 100GB HDD, a Gigabyte of main memory, and the 12.1-inches of widescreen LCD. Absolutely stunning! Other features include a 1.3MP webcam, a brilliant keyboard and wide touchpad and Windows Vista preloaded. The Philips X200 Ultra portable is shipping to the UK for about $1,700 after conversion.

Toshiba America presented a new model – M300 notebook of series Satellite Pro. This inexpensive laptop of a business level, intended for “advanced” students and senior managers. M300 will cost about $999.

It is equipped with 14.1″ TruBrite display (high-quality) and 802.11 a / g / n wireless, as well as Web-camera 1.3-megapixel and an integrated microphone.

The Sahara TufTab from Tablet Kiosk is a rugged tablet PC that has been constructed to withstand the rigors of rain, dust, humidity, extreme temperatures, and vibration. The gadget is powered by 1.0GHz Celeron processor, 1GB of RAM, a 12.1 inch widescreen LCD touch panel display that can be viewed even under sunlight, Bluetooth connectivity, and a biometric fingerprint scan. The Sahara TufTab retails for $2,099.

Limited to only 600 units, Toshiba’s Dynabook TX/870LSFIFA is inspired by the upcoming 2006 Fifa World Cup. The 2006 Fifa World Cup shell is gold and has embossed listings of previous World Cup winners/host countries. In terms of performance, the this laptop features a 1.66-GHz Intel Core Duo T2300 CPU, 512MB of memory, 80GB hard drive, and a DVD Super Multi drive (DVD±R DL). The 15.4-inch WXGA display with Clear SuperView technology is ideal for gaming or watching movies. On the outside, you will find USB 2.0 ports, a Type 2 PC Card slot, 4-in-1 memory card reader, FireWire port, and 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi. This laptop will be on sale on May 26th in Japan and will cost about $1,730.

The Epson Endeaver NJ2050 low-cost laptop is using Microsoft’s Windows XP Home Edition operating system and boasts a 1.73GHz Celeron processor, 40GB hard drive, and 256MB of RAM. Unfortunately, this laptop has only a standard CD-ROM drive. It’s a great laptop for those who don’t need those expensive notebooks with high specs. The Epson NJ2050 retails for around $590.

Are you ready for another Eee PC wannabe? But this time, the competitor which goes by the name Akoya E1210 by French manufacturer, Medion, is coming all the way from France. And it is not competing against the Eee PC 701 but against the Eee PC 900.

The Akoya E1210 touts of the following features and specs:

• 10-inch display
• 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor
• 1 GB RAM
• 1.8-inch HDD
• Windows XP or Linux OS,
• 1.3 mp camera (VGA out)
• integrated memory card reader
• 2 USB ports
• available in white or gray

The Akoya E1210 will be availabe in Europe end of summer for around $623.
While there is no announcement from Medion about the UMPC coming to North America, the laptop will launch in Europe at the end of the summer, topping out at an equivalent of approximately $630.

The Akoya Mini from Medion is a 10 inch small notebook which is powered by Intel’s Atom processor, on-board Linux, 1GB RAM, two USB 2.0 ports, a memory card slot, VGA out, and a 1.3MP webcam. This UMPC will be released in Europe soon for €399.

Asus has released new ultraportable notebook – Asus U6Ep another alternative of Eee PC. With its high mobility, a laptop is a very good completion. ASUS U6Ep is equipped with a 12.1″ widescreen display and a fingerprint scanner to enhance the security of the data.

It is based on the processor Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 2.6GHz, which gives high performance and low power consumption. Asus U6Ep is also equipped with chipset Intel GM965 Express, the operational standard DDR2 667MHZ memory and integrated Intel GMA X3100 video card. For data storage is proposed a hybrid 160GB hard drive and 256MB Flash memory, which will allow faster download and process of the data. In addition, U6Ep also supports Bluetooth, thanks to an embedded module, and Wi-Fi (802.11n).

3K Computers announced its own UMPC model, the Longitude 400 Mini Notebook. Retailing for just $399 and will be available in sometime in May, this new notebook sports a 7-inch LCD Display aside from its other features that include:

• 1GB Flash Drive Storage,
• Linux OS,
• Full Flash Navigation,
• Integrated 802.11 Wireless LAN,

Those are certainly a lot of features for the $399 SRP. It would have better if 3K released this earlier when the Asus Eee PC 701 was still not that famous. But, again for those who haven’t bought the Eee PC 701 and is seriously considering to buy a UMPC, you might want to give this one a try.

MSI will be releasing a new laptop calleWind comes with an XP system, LED-backlit, 8.9- and 10-inch 1,024 x 600 displays, 80GB, 2.5-inch hard disk, as well as a superior keyboard and battery life. No word on the price or availability, but it is said to perhaps release in June for a range of $470-$1,099.

Asus will be releasing a new gaming laptop called the G1Sn in Japan. It features an Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 2.5GHz processor, 250GB hard drive, 2GB RAM, a 15.4″ 1,440 x 900 resolution display, and Windows Vista Home Edition. The G1Sn will be available the 26th of this month, retailing for approximately $2,300.

Here’s a look at BenQ’s upcoming UMPC called the mid. It has an Intel Atom processor (the base 800MHz model), 512MB of RAM, a 4GB SSD hard drive, HSPDA support along with wifi and bluetooth. The UMPC will also feature a “G-Senser” for “direct touch and free movement to surf on internet,” voice activation, and optional GPS.

The new Medion RIM 1000 will be released in the U.S. very soon. This new UMPC will have an internal GPS module and will also support an external GPS antenna. Other features is two internal microphones and speaker, web cam, USB port, media slot, bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Mainstream PC manufacturer Gateway has released its latest tablet PC. Known as the E155C, it looks like a normal laptop with the inclusion of a swivel hinge and digitizer. The tablet offers a 12.1 inch 1280 x 800 widescreen display, an internal optical drive, a biometric fingerprint scanner, an Intel Core 2 Duo U7500 processor, Gigabit Ethernet, and WiFi connectivity. Its recommended retail price is at around $1,850.

Toshiba is at it again with the the Dynabook SS MX. The beast packs an Intel Core Duo T2300 (1.66GHz) CPU, 80GB hard drive, 512MB of RAM, DVD Super Multi drive, and a 4-in-1 memory card reader. Built-in with a biometric fingerprint sensor you can rest assure that your data is secure, and its bright 12.1-inch WXGA display is perfect for watching DVDs. Other external interfaces include three USB 2.0 ports, a Type 2 PC Card slot, and IEEE 1394 (4 pins) FireWire. Weighing at 4.2-pounds, Toshiba will release the SS MX later this month, priced at $1,773.

It looks like BenQ’s soon to be released MID is becoming more and more like the Asus Eee PC. ITechnews is reporting that the BenQ MID which was previewed during the IDF in Shanghai would have:

• Poulsbo chipset
• 512 RAM
• 4GB SSD
• HSDPA support
• Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g
• Bluetooth EDR connectivity
• Voice command
• GPS feature (optional)

Hmm, yeah. except for the voice command and the HSDPA support, the BenQ MID does seem like the Asus Eee PC after all.

The Tango Wings UMPC comes jam packed with a 7 inch color touchscreen display and quick access keys along the frame. This UMPC also come with a directional pad located to the left of the display. Other features include a full QWERTY keyboard which is split down the middle.
